Queen Nefertari and Horus. This is a wall painting in the tomb of Queen Nefertari. The painting shows the ancient Egyptian god Horus (on the left) leading Queen Nefertari by the hand. Nefertari lived from around 1300 to 1255 BC and was the first wife of the Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II. The tomb of Queen Nefertari, located in the Valley of the Queens in Thebes, Egypt, is one of the best preserved and most ornately decorated of all known tombs.
Horus is leading Queen Nefertari by the hand to see his father Osiris, the judge of the dead and ruler of the underworld. Queen Nefertari's tomb is one of the most beautifully decorated of all ancient Egyptian tombs, with lots of wall paintings and scenes that inspire artists of all kinds.
